Why Shop with the Back to School Clothing Drive?

Since launching the social enterprise, more than 188 schools receiving Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust funds and other funding are now members of the Back to School Clothing Drive SAFE matching grant program and have purchased clothes in our online retail store.

Schools report that shopping convenience and price are determining factors in choosing to shop with Back to School. Additionally, more than 90 percent of schools surveyed say they are satisfied or very satisfied with the program and 89 percent say they participate again in the coming school year. Word of mouth about the program is the real measure of our success and 88 percent say they would recommend our SAFE matching grant program and online retail store to another school.

Improved Program, Improved Merchandise

We have made significant improvements to our program and merchandise as a result of direct feedback working with our partner schools. These improvements include:
